Sukhasana literally means the posture that gives happiness, by doing this asana one really gets soulful peace and happiness, hence it is called Sukhasana or padmasana. If you are beginning yoga, then this asana is better for you because it is the simplest posture. Those who do this posture, their mind becomes calm and focused. It is beneficial for meditation and respiration.

Rishi Munio practiced this posture since ancient times. It is just like sitting on a pedestal. By doing this, the knees are turned 90 degrees, which gives them relief in pain. By performing Sukhasana, blood circulation in the feet is reduced due to which excess blood reaches other parts of the body and makes them functional. By doing this asana, the chest and legs are strengthened. Helps in semen protection and makes reed bone strong.

How to do Sukhasana: Learn its method

In Sukhasana, both the legs are pressed in a cross posture which is also called the lotus posture. This is a suitable posture for meditation. Let us know the method of Sukhasana -

* Lay the palathi by laying easy on flat ground.

* Keep your head neck and back straight, do not tilt them.

*Leave the shoulders slightly loose.

* Keep both hands on knees and palms up.

* Raise your head slightly and close the eyes.

* Now concentrate on your breathing and take long and deep breaths.

* This posture can be done in solitude for 5-10 minutes at any time.

* If you are doing this yoga spiritually, then do it in the east or north direction.

Precautions of sukhasana


* If there is any kind of pain or discomfort in the feet, this posture should not be done.
* Sciatic patients should not make it easy.
* It should not be easy even if there is pain, swelling or any kind of disease in the lower back or knees.
